100th Day at school!

Yay, we finally made it to day 100! We have been counting the days since the very beginning of the year and learning about place value as we go! Every day in Room 1 we put a iceblock stick into the 1's bag and when we get to 10, we bundle it up and move it to the 10's bag, and now, we have a bundle of 100 in our 100's bag! We also tally our days, so your child should not only be able to tell you how many 10's in 100, but how many 5's too :) Here are some photos of us doing 100 exercises and sharing our 100 collections...

Introducing Asia

This term we are exploring the topic of Asia. To introduce us to this wonderful continent, Mrs Manabe brought in some special pieces which she had at home. Here we are having our first taste (quite literally for some) of something quite different! Keep checking back, and watch as we take this magical journey through another culture :)

Alyssa's pet Rat

Wow, we are super lucky in Room 1 as we are often introduced to student pets! Last term Alyssa brought in her pet rat called Shoelace :) He was very cute!

Thank you Alyssa, its great to see you taking care and giving love to your lovely pet!

Room 1 Artists!

As you all are aware, here at Normandale we had a major focus on Art for Term 2. In Room 1, we looked at colour mixing and blending with black and white to create different shades. We learnt a lot about our primary and secondary colours and decided to create a piece of art from these colours :)
